How to Change the Jira Issue Type in a SoftComply Risk Project

Cloud:

In Cloud platform, You have an option in project settings to change risk issue type. If you do not have a suitable issue type in selectable options, then first you need to add a new issue type to the project and then you can set it to default risk issue type in project settings.

Data Center platform:

SoftComply Risk Manager uses standard Jira business project as the basis for each new risk project. As such, the only available issue type is “Task”. But you might want to have issue type “Risk” or “Hazard” to describe the risks instead.

In order to customise the issue type you need to have Jira Admin permissions. If you have it then follow the steps below to change the issue type:

  • Step 1 - create a suitable issue type in Jira Settings → Issues → Issue Types

    • NB! The issue type cannot be “Sub-Task” type. It must be a Standard issue type.

    • E.g. create an issue type (e.g. Risk) and select a suitable icon for it.

  • Go to the project settings and change the Issue types.

    • Project Settings → Issue types → Edit issue types

    • Select the issue type you just created as shown in the picture below:

Now all the issues you create in the Risk projects will be using this new issue type you created!

Note that if you had some issues in the risk project already and they were of different issue types, then Jira might ask you to migrate these “non-existing” issue types to the new type that you selected to use in the risk project!
