How to rename locked SoftComply Risk Manager fields in Jira Server/DC?

After installing the SoftComply Risk Manager or the SoftComply Risk Manager Plus app on Jira Server/Data Center, there will be new Jira custom fields created in your Jira by the app. Some of these custom fields have generic names like Severity and Probability that you may already have created in your Jira before and in order to differentiate between these fields that have the same name you may want to rename them for the risk management app.

The fields created by the SoftComply Risk Manager app are locked. The reason for locking them is to not allow app users to accidentally delete a field because some of the fields are vital for calculating risk classes and without them, the app would not be usable. Some of the fields are locked in order to ensure your risk management process compliance to regulatory requirements.

Having said that, the SoftComply Risk Manager is supporting renaming the fields and will work even with renamed fields. The lock is set just for precaution and safety.

First, you will have to unlock the field you wish to rename. For Atlassian instructions of locking and unlocking Jira custom fields, please follow the guidelines at https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/unlock-a-locked-jira-software-custom-field-779158866.html Then go to the Customer Fields page in Jira settings and rename the field and lock it again so that the field cannot be changed again by accident.
